Pro Finish Suction Blast Cabinet
Pro-Finish suction cabinets cost less and are simpler than pressure cabinets. They also blast continuously without the need to stop for media refills, and they simplify the use of multiple nozzles. The results are usually comparable to those achieved with a pressure system although production rates are not as high. When initial cost and maintenance are primary concerns, the suction system is a good choice. Pro-Finish suction systems come in five sizes and can be specified with a collector or dust bag on smaller units. A media reclaimer is optional.
Pneumatic Blasting - Suction
In pneumatic blasting, an air compressor is used in order to accelerate an air stream combined with media onto a work piece.
Two types of pneumatic blasting used to accelerate air:
1. Suction
2. Pressure
SUCTION
• Uses the venture principal
• Incorporates an air jet one half the inside diameter of the nozzle
• Creates negative pressure which sucks media into the gun body from the hopper
• Total acceleration of the media in the air stream is 8” to 16”
• Can operate continously without shutdowns to refill media
• Can be easily automated with multiple gun bodies
